Can a Thyroid disorder cause premature hair loss and slowed growth of hair?

As a healthcare provider I can tell you: Absolutely yes.Can a Thyroid disorder cause premature hair loss and slowed growth of hair?
Yes, it can. Some people will even experience more hairloss on Synthroid. What you can do about it is tryinh a thyroid medication containing both T4 and T3 and get the free t4 midrange and the free t3 high in range. That should help. I experienced hairloss while hypothyroid and even when I was on Levoxyl. When I switched to ARmour thyroid, the hairloss stopped. The thinning areas actually came back too.Can a Thyroid disorder cause premature hair loss and slowed growth of hair?
yes it can. I know somone who had one and there hair falls out quit a bit.
Yes it can; especially Hyperthyroidism. That's when the thyroid is overactive.
This is a question you should ask your doctor who is qualified, trained, and licensed to give you medical advice. People on this site are not. Good luck.
