What could cause excessive feline hair loss?

my cat is loosing hair at a fast rate and the hair is comming off in clumpsWhat could cause excessive feline hair loss?
*Heat

*Stress

*Anxiety

*Submission

*Other underlying health issues

*Flea allergies

*Scabies or mange

*Ringworm

Not all of these are common causes for hairloss, but I would say the top two on this list are the most prominent! What could cause excessive feline hair loss?
If the cat has bald spots. it's time for a vet check with blood and urine work to see if thyroid disease, kidney disease or something else is causing the loss. If it is just lots of hair, then the cat just needs to be brushed. The Furminator works great on my cat as she loves it. If you cat has long fur, it may be getting matted and she is scratching it as the mats pull at the skin causing discomfort. Make sure that the cat is eating a healthy diet to include canned cat food.
Your cat needs to see a vet, it could be mange or something even more serious. I would not wait any longer.

If you want to check this out it is a good cat site forum, you can post a picture of your cat in your post and somebody may be able to identify what is going on by seeing a picture of your cat- http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/index.p
last summer that happened to my cat. It was because it was extremely hot out and we had no air conditioning and she has black fur.
