and if it does happen (loose skin of the pussi -sorry to say it but its only to explain, please execuse me - ) what are the other factors that cause it? is it like age? or the type of genes ? or what? Can massive weight loss (100pounds,48kg) cause loose labia (and the skin where pubic hair grows) in females?
Yes, weight loss can cause it - it contains fat just like the rest of your body. Also age as well as child birth can change it.
There are surgical (cosmetic) procedures that can be done to correct it.Can massive weight loss (100pounds,48kg) cause loose labia (and the skin where pubic hair grows) in females?
I think age has a great deal to do with the elasticity retention of the skin.
Yes. That area gains fat when we're obese and then becomes deflated, so to speak, after massive weight loss.
Age is also a factor especially for people who have been overweight most of their lives. They've never seen their ';aging'; body, all they know is skin stretched tight from fat.
Congrats on your weight loss! You've been a big favor for your health, even if there are a couple disappointments.
You might enjoy reading the Success Stories at Kimkins. Even though you've already lost weight, it's still motivating to hear how others did it. They're regular people, just like you.

Is DHT (dihydrotestosterone) , the actual cause of hair loss in both male and females?
I'm confused. On the internet, whilst doing some research i read that DHT also occurs in women. I thought only men experienced this. Is this the root of what causes hair loss ? is DHT always present and always the reason why someone will lose their hair?
this is an article i found
';DHT develops when testosterone is combined with ';5-alpha reductase';, an enzyme that is produced by the hair follicles. The mixture of the already-present testosterone and the new enzyme cause the hair follicles to begin shrinking. The Di-hydrostestosterone, or DHT, remains present on the scalp, causing the hair follicles to shrink more and more. Eventually, the follicles are unable to continue producing hair';
If this is the case then is a dht blocker able to prevent hair loss for life if used continuously? I'm a 22 year old female experiencing hair loss which has not resolved itself after the delivery of my son 2 years ago. Can i get a recommendation of a Natural and fairly cheap DHT blocker i can use to grow my hair and prevent future hair loss?Is DHT (dihydrotestosterone) , the actual cause of hair loss in both male and females?
The paragraph you quoted primarily refers to men. It also applies to women approaching their menopause.
women are more likely to suffer from thyroid problems, hair loss caused by birth control pills and stress induced hair loss.Especially if they are as young as you. these may ultimately lead to increased DHT but that does not mean DHT itself is the cause of your hair loss.
That article you linked to is misleading and playing with words. women do not lose hair in the same way as men and are more than likely to suffer from diffused hair loss, that is thinning all over the head. DHT is Not the main cause of hair loss in women. But that article says the main cause of baldness in women. How many women go bald? Anyway that whole article is a sales pitch aimed at a product so I would not pay too much attention to it..
I would work on finding the root cause of your hair loss.It could be a number of things.sometimes you can be under lots of stress without even knowing it.
you may be suffering from Telogen Effluvium which can be triggered by childbirth and can take long a time to clear up. Sometimes years.
Most hair loss supplements with DHT blockers are only for men.The only one that I know of that is for women and does actually work is provillus.
P.S DHT tests in women are inconclusive and not very reliable. The reason is because of the very low levels of DHT compared to men. Tests carried out on women can and do report DHT as being normal even though it is causing hair loss.Is DHT (dihydrotestosterone) , the actual cause of hair loss in both male and females?
There are many reasons for hair loss including hormone imbalance, stress etc....
it would probably be better to go to the doctor so they can determine the cause.I think they can do test whether DHT is the cause nowadays?

Alopecia. What can cause hair loss for a 23 yo female?
stress chemicals vitamin lots of stuffWhat can cause hair loss for a 23 yo female?
thyroid problems, anemia, alopecia, stress
eating too much sugar based food can cause hair loss. too much sugar make the body acidic. the the pH is changed, the the hormone is changed. that is why her hair is loosing. plz avoid eating sugar food. i am telling from my own experience.
alkaline based food will strengthen the root of the hair.
It can be a number of things.. Stress is one of them. I have very thick curly hair and when I'm under a lot of stress It does come out by the handfuls. You could have a related illness that is causing it to come out.
Best thing is to call your doctor and have them check it out.
tention
medications. a double dose of bladness from both sides of the family. STRESS. lack of good nutriention
Stress, change in lifestyle, eating habits, or weather. It's better if you visit a doctor people on line would not have an answer. Good Luck!
Are you losing a lot of hair and seeing a noticable thinning in the remaining hair or are you seeing a lot in the hair brush, on the floor, come out in the shower.
If you have noticed thinning it is probably genetic or malnutrition. Go see a doctor.
If you've just seen a lot of hair who knows what it could be. I've lost a lot of hair but have not seen any type of thinning or baldness, my hair actually seems to have gotten thicker and healthier.
birth control pills
Not getting enough Vitamins you need to get extra vitamin b12. Or depending on what products you are using they can cause buildup. Try using Nixon for hair loss and hair thinking you can get it at hair salons but first to save money try getting extra vitamins such as b12 or vitamin C cause them are the main things if they still do not work go into your doctor and ask him to check for la petcha. Its a hair loss deficiency having to do with your vitamins and they will recommend something to you but my sister had the same problem when she was like 10 and a friend of mine had it to. In case your wondering i am in beauty college and we study alot of this stuff.mineral foundation

Has any female had unexplained hair loss and figured out what what causing it?
I know the obvious thyroid and lupus...any one had any other explainations?Has any female had unexplained hair loss and figured out what what causing it?
I started having hair loss in January and I had no idea why. I went to my dermatologist and was diagnosed with telogen effluvium which, in short, is when there it a shock or persistant stressor that causes your hair follicules to go into the resting stage so you notice a huge shed. The bright side: it's a diffuse thinning so there are no bald spots but it will look thinner in some places than others, you won't go completely bald ((lose about 70% of your hair)) and even though that sounds like a lot, no one will notice but you. Also, it is completely reversable and not permanent. There are many causes of TE including: hormonal changes ((birth, starting or stopping birth control..mine was from stopping the pill)), stress, excessive weight loss, aftermath of a surgery or dental procedure, along with many other reasons. The hair loss usually starts about 3 months after the cause is removed. Once whatever is causing the fall out is present is out of your system, the hair will stop falling out and start the regrowth process.
My suggestions:
1. See a dermatologist to get the hair loss checked out. It could be something completely different as there are many types of hair loss.
2. Take a high does of Biotin ((5000 mcg)). Depending on the type of hair loss, this is said to kick start hair regrowth. It could take a while to work but it will help your hair grow back healthy. This is found in most vitamin sections and is pretty inexpensive.
3. Until the hair grows back, look for a line called Nioxin ((found in speciality stores such as Sally's, Trade Secret or Master Cuts or it can be ordered offline)). It won't make your hair regrow and it won't make it thicker but it will make you and others perceive it's thicker ((9/10 can see a difference)). The stuff in the stores will only make it worse
I hope this helped. This is the only kind of unexplained hair loss I can think of. Good luck!Has any female had unexplained hair loss and figured out what what causing it?
Hair loss can occur for various reasons. Mostly this happens for men compared to women for various harmones. There are lot of clinically proven techniques. They are by minoxidil, finasteride, corticosteroids, antralin. Read more about the treatment in http://hair-loss.healthcare2u.net
this website pretty much gives all the reasons i could think of...and more

Does low hormone birth control cause hair loss in females?
I suppose it's possible.
I took the low-dose hormone pills for seven years and they did not have that effect on me.
Ask your doctor about it.Does low hormone birth control cause hair loss in females?
I have heard that it can but it has to be very low for a very long time for that to happen.

What could be the cause of female hair loss that is most pronounced on the nape of the neck?
I am a 21 year old female. Until recently I had a very thick head of hair.
I started to notice that I was losing more hair than normal this summer but I wasn't too worried since it didn't seem to be getting any thinner.
Then about 3 weeks ago, my hair loss increased to the point where it was indisputably abnormal. And it has continued to fall as much every day since. My hair is now visibly thinner. My ponytail is about half the thickness it used to be.
At first it seemed as though the hair loss was diffuse but now that my hair has thinned considerably, I've noticed that it is NOT diffuse and is coming from certain areas in particular:
1. my hair line (my bangs are so thin, they're nearly gone)
2. **especially the nape of my neck (you know when men's hair starts to recede at the temples? that's what the nape of my neck looks like now)
and the thinning is more pronounced on the right side in both cases.
I consulted 2 different doctors, but neither found anything abnormal in my blood work and didn't seem too eager to help me.
What could be causing my hair loss and is it reversible?
Also, as background information, I have no illnesses and I do not take any medication (including birth control), nor have I ever had any severe illnesses and the last pills I took were antibiotics about a year ago. All the men in my family are bald but none of the women are. The only travelling I've done in the last year is to Italy.
Thank you so much for any help you can provide.
My hair loss is progressing rapidly and I could use some answers so that I can take the necessary steps to stop it and hopefully reverse it.
Help! What could be the cause of female hair loss that is most pronounced on the nape of the neck?
Could be stress. My friend started losing hair when she was having problems with her boyfriend, but she didn't lose as much as you have, she only lost a patch of it near her temple. There's a name for it, but I forget what it is. I'd keep going to different doctors until one is more eager to help you!

Anyone knows what causes hair loss??? ';21'; Female?
After I gave birth to my last child, which she is now 4 months old. I notice that I was losing some hair- more than usual. I didn't pay any mind because I convinced myself that I was only losing hair because I didn't wash it as often, I maybe washed it like 1x a week or 1x every two weeks, and that's because I hardly went out %26amp; stuff %26amp; my hair- most of the time was clean. Now it's been 2 months that I started a simple diet, eating more vegetables-instead of frying I'll eat something that's cooked, steam, or baked- you know nothing too greasy, I drink more water than before, I never use to drink water- maybe like 3x a week, it was mostly o.juice I drunk. I'm not taking any medications, except, that I took birth control pills for 2 months- but the hair problem started before that. I feel sleepy-real tired to the point that I can fall asleep in the public- which is something I never do. I'm not pregnant-%26amp; I'm positive about it. I'm actually starting to notice that my hair line is pushedAnyone knows what causes hair loss??? ';21'; Female?
You need to go to your general practitioner and get a professional opinion. IT is sometimes possible for women to lose some hair after giving birth. It would seem to me that you have some sort of nutritional defeciancy. Try taking a multivitamin and get in to see your doc asap. Only washing your hair once a week won't cause this problem. It's normal for a new mother to feel tired and fatigued for a few months, but you need to also bring this to the attention of a physician, it may be a deeper underlying problem.Anyone knows what causes hair loss??? ';21'; Female?
Some hair loss is normal after birth as you might know, as during pregnancy less hair than normal is shed due to hormones, soon as you deliver all the hair you would have lost in the 9 months before comes out.
However with the other symptoms you describe you need to get to the doctors and have a test done for diabetes.
This causes tiredness and excessive thirst and some people also report hair loss. its just a urine dipstick and can be done in seconds. Its very important you rule this out.
If the diabetes test is normal you could also have a blood test done for under active thyroid. This can be triggered by pregnancy and also causes tiredness and hair loss.
Hope this is some help

Stress causes hair loss. It is the natural cycle of hair. It will fall out, but new ones will grow in behind them.
stress. try rogain.
the question that you posted after this one is not a question and will be removed... (just so you know).... but read the above answers carefully.... you do lose hair after pregnancy... (the amount that you would have lost in the 9mo you were pregnant) but if it all came out at once then you would really be freaked out.... so it comes out a little at a time... so that plus the current amount that sheds looks like a lot to you... it is normal... and will go back to the normal amount of loss pretty soon.... if not.... do look at stress as an answer.... many people with new borns are stressed.... don't stress too much over the fact that you are losing hair... cause that will result in more hair lose due to stress.... take it easy and continue your hair routine as usual.... good luck and congrats on the baby!
It could just be hormones, but if you are extra thirsty, and having hair loss, that sounds like a thyroid problem.
stresssssssssssssssssssssssssss
my sister was loseing alittle bit of hair after haveing her first at 17 it stoped falling out sonn after the birth dont worry itll stop it has to do wiht hormones

What are the causes and natural treatments of female hair loss and mood swings?
I've also started getting broken thread viens from walking too much!
Recently I have joined a gym and go 3 times a week and also do one session of yoga a week. I started to loose a lot of hair after giving birth and not regained all of it although my hair dresser said some is starting to grow back.
I get mood swings, low libido and feel really low and not quite right physically sometimes - may be food allergy.
Started taking maca, St John's Wort, gingko bilbo and also take flax seed oil to ensure I get enough omega 3,6 and 9 as vegetarian. I tired a wheat, dairy sugar free eating plan and did feel better but stopped...What are the causes and natural treatments of female hair loss and mood swings?
I would say not to use chemicals on your hair. Why don't you go for some home remedies. Egg whites, lemon juice, oil massages, reducing stress and diet changes can reduce hair fall and make it healthier. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for hair loss as well as for healthy hair at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/hairfall.htmWhat are the causes and natural treatments of female hair loss and mood swings?
If something was working, continue doing it! Everything in moderation.
Also there may be some stress or trauma in your life that you haven't dealt with.
How's your spiritual life? Do you believe in God? Try it. It may help! Body, mind and spirit affect one another.
Lack of vitamins and protein. Eat more eggs and take supplements if you must.
The first thing you need to do is figure out why your sex drive is low and try to help get it back. I was in your situation and it's not fun without being horny and feeling in the mood when needed. I also felt like my orgasms (if I would even get one) were really weak. Probably because of my sex drive.
However, I tried exercising and dieting but nothing seemed to be working. I thought I was screwed. I then found something just as amazing as the vibrator.
My friend at work told me about this stuff she took to raise her sex drive. It was a natural herbal supplement and was I lucky to of found it. Theres no side effects and the sex drive is just tremendous along with orgasms that are blasting. The stuff is called Hersolution pills. At the time I saved money on them at herenhancement.com
What I did was tried out for 3 months and that was really it. I found taking them every other day or so was the best to stretch it out. After the months were up, I was back to normal with a beating sex drive and my orgasm strength in increased so much.
Well good luck and I hope this helps.mineral foundation

What I did was tried out for 3 months and that was really it. I found taking them every other day or so was the best to stretch it out. After the months were up, I was back to normal with a beating sex drive and my orgasm strength in increased so much.
Well good luck and I hope this helps.

Causes of hair loss? Female, 18 years?
I have a friend who's got a bald patch at the crown of her head, and it seems to be getting bigger. What could it be??? I'm worried about her because she never looks very well. She's 18.Causes of hair loss? Female, 18 years?
Hair that falls out in patches is generally caused by a common genetic trait. Hair loss from poor health generally does not occur in patches. If its not genetic, she might have iron deficiency anemia - people with this don't look healthy; or she could have a thyroid problem. She really needs to get a panel of blood tests to find out the cause. The non-genetic causes are treatable.Causes of hair loss? Female, 18 years?

Causes of female hair loss?
stress, pills, hormones, medicines, bad food, disorder ...Causes of female hair loss?
I'm not sure but I'm willing to be it's all hormonal. If you look at older women almost all of them have thinning hair. I think menopause starts that process. I think women produce more male hormones (or less estrogen really) after menopause, so that might be why.
Some gals I knew lost their hair from what I think is chemical abuse or just using curling irons close to their scalp. I think the heat must kill hair follicles so be wary when using those or hair straigteners not to damage your scalp.

Possible causes for female hair loss ?
36 yr old filipina is losing some hair of late. In good health, good diet and daily shower, every other day shampoo with ';sunsilk';... any thoughts or cures ?Possible causes for female hair loss ?
I have hair loss and last week found out i have a low thyroid count that can be a cause also weight gain and very sleepy. Go 2 the doc and get a blood test for ur thyroid .Possible causes for female hair loss ?
Apple cider vinegar mixed with water. About 2 tbls. in an 8 oz. glass of water. You may also use it for a hair rinse. Look up on the websites regarding this miracle. My hair is thick and strong and I am 50. Have hair like I did when I was a small child.
As a healthcare provider I recommend some simle basic blood tests...especially a thyroid panel. Your thyroid needs evaluation first. Then go from there. Obviously, you need evaluation by your healthcare provider for this to get started.

What are the common causes for female hair loss?
I've always had a lot of healthy hair on my head.
Recently I've been loosing hair like crazy - within last 2 months I've lost about 25% of my hair. I'm a 33 year old female in good physical condition.
What can be causing it?What are the common causes for female hair loss?
Experts say our tresses usually grow at the rate of about one-half inch per month -- with each hair having a growth phase of two to six years. At that point the hair ';rests'; for a period of time, then falls out -- and the follicle from which it sprang soon starts growing a new strand. And so the cycle continues, usually well into our senior years.
In some folks, however -- those with a genetic predisposition to hair loss -- a group of hormones called androgens interferes with this natural process. According to dermatologist Michael Reed, MD, androgen hormones include testosterone, androsteinedione, and dihydrotestosterone (DHT) -- all of which are made in men's bodies in large amounts, and in women's bodies in small amounts.
In those who are genetically susceptible, when testosterone comes in contact with enzymes residing in the hair cell, it is converted into the more potent androgen DHT, which then binds with receptors deep within the hair follicle.
';Over time, an excess build-up [of DHT] in the follicle causes it to begin shrinking, which in turn alters the natural resting and growth phases of the hair,'; says Reed, clinical associate professor of dermatology at NYU Medical Center, and a specialist in female hair loss. Some of the follicles eventually die, while others are rendered incapable of producing or maintaining healthy hair growth. The end result, says Reed, is hair loss -- and a condition that is medically known as androgenic alopecia.
For many decades, doctors believed that androgenic alopecia was the primary cause of balding in both men and women. Today they know this is not true -- at least where women are concerned.
Female, Male Balding Not the Same Pattern
';We don't even like to use the term 'androgenic alopecia' in women anymore -- instead we call it female pattern hair loss -- a broader term that encompasses many possible causes, some of which are likely to be directly linked to an excess of testosterone, and some of which are not,'; Daly tells WebMD.
Indeed, he says that although the science of female balding is still largely misunderstood, there is evidence that many other types of enzymes, as well as hormone receptors and blockers, may be at work in women.
One clue that there is a true difference between male and female balding is the pattern in which the hair loss occurs.
';Female pattern balding goes around the whole top of the head -- it's diffuse -- whereas men lose it on the temple, the crown, the bald spot in the back,'; says Daly. Not coincidentally, the hormone and enzyme receptor sites are also different in varying areas of the scalp -- another reason doctors now believe the loss patterns are caused by different precipitating factors.
Another important difference: While balding in men is almost always the result a genetic predisposition coupled with age, in women, it can happen at any time. In addition, underlying medical conditions can also be the cause of hair loss -- even when true androgenic alopecia is the diagnosis.
Medical Causes Common
';Often these women are also suffering with polycystic ovary syndrome, [a common hormonal problem in women], and sometimes their hair loss is the only obvious sign,'; says Ricardo Azziz, MD, director of the Center for Androgen-Related Disorders at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
In addition, Daly reports that certain types of autoimmune disorders result in a slightly different and often less dramatic hair loss problem known as alopecia areata -- an inflammatory condition that causes hair to come out in clumps or patches.
Still others can develop a temporary hair shedding problem known as telogen effluvium -- a change in the natural hair growth system that often follows childbirth, crash dieting, surgery, or a traumatic emotional event.
Azizz adds that thyroid disorders, anemia, even chronic illness or the use of certain medications can also cause hair loss in women that is often undiagnosed.
For these reasons, specialists say it's vital for all women to get at the ';root'; of their hair loss before seeking treatment.
';The No. 1 rule of treating hair loss in women is getting the correct diagnosis -- if there is an underlying physical problem it has to be corrected first,'; says Reed. Often, he says, that can preclude the need for additional hair loss treatment. As such, he advises women to see a doctor who specializes in female pattern balding and make certain to be checked for possible underlying medical conditions via blood tests, or if need be, a scalp biopsy.
';Often the diagnosis is made by excluding what problem isn't there -- but it's still essential to do the complete workup,'; says Daly. What are the common causes for female hair loss?
cancer, stress, major weight loss or weight gain
Most common cause is decreased thyroid hormone!!! You also need to take vitamin pantothenic acid, a very inexpensive vitamin.
Are you stressed? If not, go to the doctor to see if alopecia.

There could be many reasons why you are loosing your hair: Stress %26amp; Hormonal changes can cause hair loss, especially Hypothyroid (this includes loosing the outer edges of your eyebrows). Go get a check-up %26amp; see what's going on with you.
hormonal changes, I lost a lot of hair after I had my two children. thyroid either hyperthyroid or hypothyroid and also stress can be an indicator. make sure also you aren't losing too much weight or not getting the right amount of vitamins in your diet.
there can be a number of reasons. Stress is usually a big one. also things like an after effect to something. for example, my mum suffered hair loss after she had a operation on her bowel. My friend also suffered hair loss after sitting her exams. If you have no worries or problems or stress then you need to see a doctor to see what causing it.

What sort of deficiency causes female hair loss?
I'm only 20 and I've noticed that my hair is thinner than usual. I don't have bald spots and it's not just in one place. I notice when I take a shower a lot of hair falls out. Does anyone know if I'm not getting enough of a certain vitamin or mineral? What sort of deficiency causes female hair loss?
Vitamins are participating in metabolism process. Shortage of certain vitamins or minerals always lead to health problems. Especially it has a big influence on the hair and nails conditions. The main vitamins for hair loss are B vitamins, as well as A, E and C. Besides multivitamin complex you can receive these vitamins from food. Please find a list of the products, that are strongly recommended as a source of forementioned vitamins: fish oil, dairy butter, eggs, vegetable oils, nuts, groats, fruits and vegetables.
Minerals are the part of the human body. They take a part in ferment and hormonal processes and are necessary for uptake of vitamins and other nutrients. To prevent a hair loss you should check if your diet contains all the mentioned minerals: zinc (oat and buckwheat groats, walnuts, shrimps, beans), iron (liver, nuts, egg yolk), molibdenym(kidney, pea, cacao), sulphur (garlic, liver, fish, beans), silicium (whole grain products, root vegetables).
Another way is to deliver the vitamins and minerals directly to hairs by applying it with hair mask. You could apply it at home 1-3 times per week. Here are some compositions. Mask for strengthening of dry hair: 50 g of vegetable oil and 10 drops of lemon juice. Pour it into the cup and heat it by placing the cup in saucepan filled with hot water. Then rub the liquid in hair roots and wait 2 hours. Afterwards wash the head with shampoo and rinse with liter of water with 1 tablespoon of apple vinegar. Mask for strengthening of oily hair: 1 egg, 1 ml of liquid B1 or B6 vitamins. Rub in hair roots, wait an hour and then washwith shampoo plus rinse with water with vinegarWhat sort of deficiency causes female hair loss?
Men and women shed at least 100- 125 strands of hair per day and have it replaced after 2- 3 months with new hair growth.
Although it is a natural occurrence women do not want to accept it as normal because it is expected that they have thick, luxurious, healthy hair. Hair health really matters to women.
It is well known that women of all ages should take vitamins for their health however it seems that not all women know that a lack of vitamins can affect the health of their hair. Lack of iron, zinc, and B vitamins may cause hair loss in women.
A standard multi-vitamin or natural supplement designed for hair loss can provide the correct amounts of these vitamins that may be missing from many women's diets.
There are lots of different products on the market place. Do not simply waste money on what is known as 'retail' supplements, designed for that purpose, to make the shop money! You need 'pharmaceutical' supplements, there are higher quality and proven to give your body what is actually in there. For hair loss and control I recommend the below site as they contain a great balance and are high quality.
Thanks hope that helps
Hi,
I've read that a major factor in hair loss for women your age is hormonal changes. If there's a possibility you may be pregnant then that may be the cause.
Stress can also be a factor - are there any new events or circumstances in your life that might be stressing you out?
You also may want to check to see if hair loss runs in your family - heredity is definitely a cause as well.
I did a Google search and found a lot of useful, third-party info on the site below - check it out:
I would say not to use chemicals on your hair. Why don't you go for some home remedies. Egg whites, lemon juice, oil massages, reducing stress and diet changes can reduce hair fall and make it healthier. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for hair loss as well as for healthy hair at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/hairfall.htm

Does excessive MASTURBATION cause HAIR LOSS?
I have read that excessive masturbation enlarges the prostate and causes hair loss. I am 21, i notice when i shower there are like 5-9 strands of hair shedding. any input?Does excessive MASTURBATION cause HAIR LOSS?
There is NO proven proof that masturbating causes hair loss, or anything else that you've probably heard over the years.
Normal hair loss is anywhere from 50-150 strands throughout the course of a day, so 5-9 strands in the shower aren't nothing!
How about yanking the monkey a little less? Get a different hobby if you are still worried about it! ;)Does excessive MASTURBATION cause HAIR LOSS?
No,hair loss is a genetic thing,I think its somewhere around 53 million Americans could experience alopecia,so,if your ma or pa had it ,or both, youre prone for it too.Rogaine has like female hormones in it to counteract overactive male hormones on scalp causing hairloss. The prostate thing is like where testosterone converts to othe forms;even estrogen, sbgh;is neutraized;dht;Beta sitosterol is active ingredient in saw palmetto extract, and is best thing for prostate,I believeve even better than avodart,%26amp; available OTC at Swansonvitamins.com
Masturbation causes no harm, including hair loss or enlarged prostrate.
Masturbation is natural and has NO effects upon the body what so ever.
Your hair naturally sheds. 5-9 strands is nothing.
I lose more than 5-9 hairs per shower. Excessive masturbation does not cause hair loss.
nah i dont beleive so its a myth, jsut be gentle with your hair in shower
no, it comes from your parents. the hair loss that is.

Can excessive masturbation cause hair loss?
i m 19 and masturbating since i was 10.i hav been facing hair loss problem 4m last 2 yrs .my head is still ok 2 look at as i cam easily hide d bald spots.but since 3 months i m facing excessive hail loss problem.the only gud thing hair loss has done 2 me is that it has stopped me 4m MASTURBATING .i hav not masturbated since one month and i wanna continue that but i also wanna get rid of hair loss coz dis troubling me all day and night i m worried of my hairs.help me please. Can excessive masturbation cause hair loss?
Masturbating has no permanent consequences. But doing it too often is a bad habit because it can get addictive. Can excessive masturbation cause hair loss?
Normal masturbation has never been shown conclusively to have any ill effects, even performed on a daily basis, with the possible exception of chafing. The fact is many men, in fact most men will lose their hair as they age. It's in the genes, and there's not much one can do about it...except beat it to the punch and take to shaving your head. There are kinds of hair loss that can be effected by health. Particularly the bald spot many men develop at their crown, which has been shown to be the result of poor circulation in some cases. Male pattern baldness and receding hairlines however don't offer much hope of a cure, and none of them are effected by masturbation, other than potentially positively as stress can cause baldness in extreme cases, and masturbation certainly helps with that.
The chemical reactions that take place during orgasm and ejaculation reduce testosterone and create another chemical called dihydrotestosterone(DHT) that causes hair loss. Testosterone is needed to maintain muscle mass, bone mass, mental energy, and physical energy. The vitamins and nutrients lost with the expelled semen such as zinc further deteriorate your bones, muscles, flesh, brain, and even your eyes.
Every time you watch porn or think of sexual images powerful chemicals are released in your brain bringing an intense feeling of pleasure. These same chemicals are released in drug addicts brains when they get their fix of crack, heroine, morphine, or whatever drug they are addicted to.
Solution = Cover your penis with scotch tape from base to tip while it is flaccid. Don't wrap it so tight that it cuts off circulation. Leave the tip open so you can still urinate. This will inhibit erections and make it impossible to masturbate.
I know of many more methods. PM me for more info
Here a few simple home remedies which can be tried at home to control hair fall.
1.Rinse your hair with a mix of apple cider vinegar and sage tea this helps hair grow..
2. A medicine rich in sulfur is also recommended as sulfur plays an important part in the structure of the hair.
3. Massage with olive oil before going to bed at night and next morning, wash off the hair gently..
4. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea.Massage well and shampoo.

i had anemia (i dont eat enought protiens and vitamins ....etc)and dat can cause hair loss.
so i dont know y my hair was fallin .i hope it is not from masturbation
there is no connection between hair loss and masturbation. it is probably genetic that your losing your hair young.....keep on wanking it man cause studies show that it is actually healthy for you and decreases stress...try vitamin b. to promote healthy hair
No it cannot cause hair loss, but some other medical condition could be the cause, or you could just be one of those unfortunate men who go bald at a young age. Go to the doctors for some professional advice if you are worried.
no no no and NO, it does nothing, completly healthy, go to ur doc bout hair loss but its NOTHING to do with masturbation!!!!!! and ignore the guy below, over mastubation can only affect sexual fatigue in the very short term... thats it nothing else
Perhaps you should first talk to a doctor if there is a connection between the two.
If I were you I wouldn't give up sth so nice like masturbation just to later learn that it had nothing to do with your hair
I guess my years of masturbation have caused my loss of hair and the fact I went blind also. This message is being sent by my seeing eye dog. Jackmeoff.
No. One has nothing to do with the other.
Masturbation is perfectly healthy and normal.
Hair loss is either genetic/hereditary or can be triggered by stress or illness.
The 2 are unrelated. Male pattern baldness / alopecia is hereditary, and your onanistic habits have nothing to do with it.

First, let's be clear on one thing. Masturbation is healthy. Only Over Masturbation is unhealthy.
Over Masturbation
There are a large number of health problems that can occur from Over Masturbation:
* Lower Back Pain
* Chronic Fatigue
* Concentration, Memory Problems, and Absentmindedness
* Hair Loss (or thinning hair)
* Weak Erections
* Pain (in the testicles, groin, or pelvis)
* Eye Floaters (or fussy vision)
How Masturbation Much Is Too Much?
That depends on the individual.
First, let's be clear on one thing. Masturbation is healthy. Only Over Masturbation is unhealthy.
Masturbation is not immoral or wrong. Those ideas screw up more boys men than you can count.
Masturbation (when there is no regular intercourse, or intercourse too infrequently) is actually a very very healthy practice. It is almost as good as Prostate Milking for maintaing a healthy prostate and sexual system.
A Man Needs to Ejaculate
It is necessary for you to ejaculate regularly to maintain health and healthy sperm.
This has also been found to be true if you are going to maintain a healthy prostate gland.
But, Over Masturbation is an enormous drain on male vitality. And, for just one reason. It depletes your body of energy and vital mineral elements (primarily Zinc).
A lot of energy is required to produce sperm and semen. Since nature always looks after her own interests first, sperm and semen production (the continuing of the species) is far more important to her than you are.
Regular Ejaculation Keeps Your Prostate Healthy
Just like exercise, regular sexual release (intercourse or masturbation) is normal and health building.
And, just like over exercise, Over Masturbation is debilitating and injurious to your health.
Over Masturbation and Fatigue -
The ';Scientific'; Biological Explanation
Frequent masturbation (Over Masturbation) and ejaculation stimulate excessive acetylcholine/parasympathetic nervous functions. This can result in over production of sex hormones and neuro-transmitters (the chemical substances that make your nerves send the messages to your body and brain) such as acetylcholine, dopamine and serotonin.
A large amount of these hormones and neurotransmitters causes the brain and the adrenal glands to perform excessive dopamine-norepinephrine-epinephrine conversion. This causes the brain and the body functions to become extremely sympathetic. With Over Masturbation, there is actually a big change in the body chemistry.
If this continues for a long period of time, physiological changes occur.
In simple terms, you become dopey and sleepy (no, not two of the Seven Dwarves!). Your body and immune system also become weaker.
What Is The Correct Amount
of Masturbation?
If you are having regular sexual intercourse, no masturbation is necessary.
If, you are not, masturbation (not Over Masturbation) is both healthful and necessary to maintain your health. Your fluids must be moved out regularly! Otherwise infection and/or toxic accumulations can easily develope.
Severe toxic accumulations can cause cancer.
Prostate Massage and Prostate Milking
If you are not having regular intercourse, Prostate Massage (while masturbating), is better than penile excitation alone.
There are two reasons for this:
- First: The prostate is normally gently massaged (by the pelvic motion and contact) during regular sexual intercourse. The extra blood flow (from massaging) produces better prostate circulation and a healthier prostate.
- Second: More importantly, correct Prostate Massage gives a fuller deeper more satisfying orgasm. The entire physiological release and satisfaction is greater.
Because you feel really ';satisfied';, the desire to masturbate as frequently is reduced. And, so is the chance of Over Masturbation and the resulting physical impairment .
The best and deepest prostate massage you will ever get is with an Aneros prostate massage device.
Nature's Plan
Even though masturbation is probably the most fun you will ever have with your own body, Mother Nature intended ejaculation to produce offspring (children). The orgasm is only there so that you'll want to do her bidding.
When you simply stimulate your penis into sexual orgasm, Mother Nature knows you didn't do the job. So, she makes you want to have another orgasm very soon after. She wants babies!! This is the major cause of Over Masturbation. You do not get ';satisfied'; enough from penile masturbating.
When you masturbate and really orgasm fully, it more accurately resembles actual sexual intercourse to your physiology. The orgasms go ';deeper';.
When you feel much more satisfied you don't feel the need to masturbate as often.
This greatly reduces the risk of Over Masturbation.
How Much Is The Right Amount
of Masturbation?
What is a good amount of masturbation and what is Over masturbation?
A simple rule of thumb is this:
If you are feeling good, energetic and happy, you are having the right amount of sexual
5. Beat two eggs, and add two tablespoons of water to it. Rinse hair and pour the egg mixture over the hair.Massage the scalp well and leave for 10 minutes. Then wash it.

What could cause excessive feline hair loss?
my cat is loosing hair at a fast rate and the hair is comming off in clumpsWhat could cause excessive feline hair loss?
*Heat
*Stress
*Anxiety
*Submission
*Other underlying health issues
*Flea allergies
*Scabies or mange
*Ringworm
Not all of these are common causes for hairloss, but I would say the top two on this list are the most prominent! What could cause excessive feline hair loss?
If the cat has bald spots. it's time for a vet check with blood and urine work to see if thyroid disease, kidney disease or something else is causing the loss. If it is just lots of hair, then the cat just needs to be brushed. The Furminator works great on my cat as she loves it. If you cat has long fur, it may be getting matted and she is scratching it as the mats pull at the skin causing discomfort. Make sure that the cat is eating a healthy diet to include canned cat food.
Your cat needs to see a vet, it could be mange or something even more serious. I would not wait any longer.
If you want to check this out it is a good cat site forum, you can post a picture of your cat in your post and somebody may be able to identify what is going on by seeing a picture of your cat- http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/index.p
last summer that happened to my cat. It was because it was extremely hot out and we had no air conditioning and she has black fur.

How many Brazil lnuts are safe to eat daily? I've read that excessive consumption causes hair and nail loss?
I added Brazil nuts to my diet as I read that they were good for the hair and may prevent hair loss but I have recently read that eating more than the smallest amount gives the reverse effect and can cause amongst other things hair and nail loss. The Brazil nuts are very high in selenium which I had previously read was good but eating more than 1 or 2 a day gives an overdose of it and causes adverse effects. What's the truth in the above and how many is safe? Are they safe at all? I also eat Walnuts and Almonds on most days. I am not interested in losing weight or Acai berries. I have asked this question about Hazelnuts but it was a mistake as my question should have been about Brazil nuts. Thanks in advance. How many Brazil lnuts are safe to eat daily? Nuts are very nutritious to eat. There is no such thing as overdosing on natural foods. Go see your doctor to get your thyroid level checked. How many Brazil lnuts are safe to eat daily? I've read that excessive consumption causes hair and nail loss?
My GP recommends 3 a day.
Never heard that before. I have just eaten quite a few.under eye concealer

Take it from me, forget acai - colon cleansing works! There's a free trial happening at the moment at http://dapows.bestslimming4you.info , why not check it out, why not?How many hazelnuts are safe to eat daily? I've read that excessive consumption causes hair and nail loss?
I don't know about nail loss, but I'm so old now hair loss doesn't worry me anymore...
the safe factor is 40 - 60
Hazelnuts are good for your hair and won't cause any hair loss.
Although there is some selenium in hazelnuts there is far more in Brazil nuts and more than 4 Brazil nuts a day will give you more than 150 micrograms of selenium per day and that is regarded as too much so it is quite easy to overdose on selenium from Brazil nuts but hazelnuts are not a problem.
never heard this. ask wikipedia. try webMD, and ask them.

Does Excessive masturbation cause hair loss?It makes sense that it does because too much of anything is bad?
Too much of anything can change the body chemistryDoes Excessive masturbation cause hair loss?It makes sense that it does because too much of anything is bad?
I'm proof that it does not. I still have a full head of hair at 45, and I am the very definition of ';excessive masturbation';.Does Excessive masturbation cause hair loss?It makes sense that it does because too much of anything is bad?
This might be the dumbest question I've ever seen.
of COURSE it causes hair loss! and blindness! and most importantly it'll make Jesus hate you. Cause he's watching...watching you ALL the time! Muahahahaha
but really..no. by this same rationale any orgasm would cause the hair loss...including that during intercourse.
NO!! True, too much of anything may be bad, BUT it does not logically follow that excessive masturbation leads to hair loss. There just is no connection.
Chow!!
Except sex. We were designed for the very purpose of having sex, with a built-in ';governor'; in the form of a refractory period to keep us from overdoing it in any one session. You can't ';excessively'; masturbate, except in the sense of rubbing your penis raw, perhaps. Otherwise, there are no bad effect whatever.
Let me tell you something...quite the opposite happens. I have a lot more hair now. Don't you know that you get hair on your palms if you masterbate?
i don't think it causes hair loss but if you mean ';down there'; maybe because of all the pulling and stuff i guess
Well if you are smoking pot all the time, and jacking off to porn all day, yeah, the pot will make you lose your hair younger than normal. Trust me on this, I have seen it happen to tons of potheads.
Absolutely not !
Stories are made up (by parents and religious members) mostly to keep kids away from masturbating.
Enjoy !
baloney!
sure too much of a good thing can be bad for you but hair loss is not affected by masturbation so no way tha tone holds any mor ewater than the one saying masturbation makes you blind, crazy or gorw hair on your palms.
the only thing bad about too much masturbation is a sore penis which in an of itself will cure the excess masturbation for a few days whiel it recovers.,
NO! Who told you that?!
How much is too much? every 5 mins? you might get a rash, big deal.
4 times a day is OK.

Does hysterectamy cause hair loss and excessive body hair?
Im a 26 year old mother of two. I had my hysterectamy at 19 during the birth of my child. Doctors could not stop my uterus from bleeding because it had collapsed. Both of my children were delivered by c section. My first child i was in labor for 18 hours with no dialation and they believe that put to much strain on my uterus so i had a planned c section with my last child. Now at 26 im not on any hormones and my hair is thinning and i have excessive body hair and facial hair i never had before.Does hysterectamy cause hair loss and excessive body hair?

Hi Andrae, let me answer your question this way - if masturbation causes hair loss, there won't be any barber shops or hairdressing saloons in the world. This is because everyone is bald!
Shedding 5-9 hair per day is nothing to worry about. Do you know that it is considered normal to lose around 100 hair a day!
To get more info on possible hair loss causes and cure, you may want to visit this site:=%26gt;

why are you masturbating so much? i think by age 21, the amount of masturbation to oneself should be significantly lower than as when they were a teenager.
maybe try cutting down, and your hair will stay.
5-9 that's moraml! 100% nomal i dont think you can losse hair from that cuase if so some people would be BALD!
no of course not. masturbation is healthy.

Are my testosterone levels normal? Do high testosterone levels cause hair loss and prostate cancer?
I am a 16 year old asian american; I shave everyday because my facial hair grows considerably noticable everyday; i have more hair on my arms and legs than almost every asian in my school; plus my acne isn't pleasant either; do i have too much DHT? will this cause baldness? prostate cancer?
what can i do to prevent prostate cancer?
i don't really care about the baldness part once cancer is an issue; what can i do to lower my DHT; if i have too muchAre my testosterone levels normal? Do high testosterone levels cause hair loss and prostate cancer?
the cause for prostate cancer is unknown, there for there is no known way to prevent it. The key is early detection! Are my testosterone levels normal? Do high testosterone levels cause hair loss and prostate cancer?
well, your testosterone may beused more efficiently, in your body tha in other asians, facial hair is stimulated by the testosterone but it actually grows because of fat in you skin whcich may be tied to your acne, as for prostate cancer, there are many other thing that can start it, high testosterone levels are one of them but you should just get scannned to make sure, go see the doctor
You worry to much. No you do not have to much DHT.
Depends on age.
You are about average. How big you will get depends on testosterone levels. The higher the more it grows. For example. Boys with micropenia (very small penis) are treated by putting testosterone cream on the penis or by injections. Do not do this without a doctor. The best thing is to eat healthy. Fruit and veggies. Pumpkin seed and Pistachios as well as other things raise testosterone levels.
Easy on the sweets. No smoking! How big you get pepends on how big your father and your mothers father is. That is the genetics that controls how high your testosterone level will get.
I don't think there's any link to cancer. But I have read that Asians actually have the lowest rates of prostate cancer because of their diet (Nutrition). To prevent prostate cancer, just eat a healthy diet with lots of vegetables and soy. (some people say masturbation is healthy for the prostate too =) )
It's probably genetics(hair, acne). Or it happened before you were even born if you were exposed to alot of testosterone in your mommy's womb. I think, but not sure exactly, that testosterone levels can be checked by a blood test.
Hold out your fingers and check if your ring finger is longer than the index. Yes means higher testosterone.
Try not to eat too much red meat, especially beef, I believe beef boosts testosterone levels. For the acne, good hygiene and not eating greasy or fatty foods (for some people) is the only thing to prevent it not counting medication and acne creams. If you must drink milk, stay away from skim. I know for us women, it can cause outbreaks...(Health and Fitness)
James H Yes it can cause baldness, and prostate cancer.Testosterone is naturally converted in to estrogen, when to much is produced which causes hair loss. Chances are your fine, and the only true way to be sure if your DHT is high you need blood test. Good Luck!

Why cancer treatment may cause burns And hair loss?
Hair loss due to chemo is caused by the agents containing poisons. Chemo is basically a poison flowing thru the veins killing all cells in its path.
This is a temp. thing tho, hair starts growing as soon as treatment is over. while chemotherapy drugs preferentially destroy cancer cells, the drugs also can destroy those cells responsible for normal growth of hair and nails. Cancer patients sometimes shed the hair and nails during treatment.
Hair follicles are destroyed, thus hair falling out.
Burns can not only be caused by radiation, chemo also can cause these burns. Again, chemo is poison and is bound to cause problems in our system, but normally burns only occur from chemo if some is spilled on you or backs up from the IV.Why cancer treatment may cause burns And hair loss?
Chemotherapy kills rapidly dividing cells indiscriminantly, this would include the cancer cells, the hair cells, the cells lining the gut and mouth. That is why most chemo causes hair loss, and stomatitis (inflammation of the mucous membranes). Localized radiation therapy can cause burns over the area being treated. Cellulitis (skin infections which can resemble burns) can result from chemo because it also lowers your resistance by reducing the number of white blood cells in your body (also a rapidly dividing cell type).
While undergoing chemo, it is very important to maintain excellent hygiene personally and with your food, avoid sick persons and exposures to extremes of weather (sun and cold). Why cancer treatment may cause burns And hair loss?
chemo kills all the fast replicating cells good and bad
such as the cells like skin hair mouth tissue etc
while trying to kill the cancer it also kills some good cells
the reason for this is that the treatment not only kills good cells but also cancer cells as well. it also irritates the skin and not rally burns it but irritates it b/c it kills the good cells.
Chemotherapy affects rapidly dividing cells, which includes hair follicles as well as cancer cells, white blood cells, mucous membrane cells, etc. Ergo - hair falls out.
Radiation therapy can cause burns, usually no worse than a sunburn but sometimes serious.
Radiation can cause burns. The reason is because high heat is what kills the cancer cells. Radiation is directed at the cancerous spot and the heat kills the cancer cells. A side effect is that it can burn your skin.
Burns are from radiation, hair loss is from Chemotheaphy.

Are cancer patients informed about some kinds of chemotherapy that may cause permanent hair loss?
Cancer patients are uniformed about a lot of things. I am a vocal opponent of the pharmaceutical industry and all of western medicine and it's establishments. I believe in natural medicine, homeopathy, and organic sustainable agriculture for a healthier body, society, and planet.
The cure for cancer has been around for a long time, and the corrupt pharmaceutical industry has spent trillions making sure that you never hear of it, or when you do, that you don't believe it. Don't believe them, they have a trillion dollar a year industry to protect, and there is no profit in natural healing that can not be patented. The American Cancer Society are the perpetrators of cancer, and here is the answer...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmaRU_QGNxwAre cancer patients informed about some kinds of chemotherapy that may cause permanent hair loss?
Hey Elder_mo... I'm not selling anything. I'm just a guy who is sick of watching my family and friends drops like flies from cancer while they do ';treatments'; that are far more dangerous than the cancer they are trying to combat.
Are cancer patients informed about some kinds of chemotherapy that may cause permanent hair loss?
Honestly, radiation and toxins are the cause of cancer, and they try to pass it off as a treatment. Then we wonder why the cancer spreads so quickly? Treating cancer with radiation and chemo is like treating a broken arm with a baseball bat. It defies all common sense and logic.
The facts surround Max Gerson's life, accomplishments, murder, and suppression of his ideas, are just that, facts... The Gerson therapy renews all of the bodies systems in an effort to achieve homeostasis, or or perfectly balanced and functional body.
Max Gerson cured 200 cancer patients with this therapy and wrote a book about the 50 worst cases, all of which were given 3-6 months to live. They all recovered and never relapsed. He brought his proof before congress and was run out of town and murdered.
Detoxification and dealing with deficiency are two of the major goals. It gives the body the upper hand in ridding itself of cancer cells and repairing damaged cells, organs, and body systems.
The medical establishment claims they have no proof, but like everything else they do, the exact opposite is true. Gerson has documented countless full recoveries, while the establishment hides behind a smokescreen.
They claim some ridiculous high success rate for a particular kind of cancer but only track patients for 5 years. Once they hit the 5 year mark they are deemed a full recovery and that statistic is written in stone. Then the cancer comes back with aggression and kills them.
These are the same tactics they claim that Gerson uses but that is not true. Recovered Gerson patients never relapse. I've not heard of one, ever. Not only do Gerson patients recover, sometimes very quickly within weeks, but they also report being in the best health of their lives.
These are all well documented facts but all it takes is for the establishment to say no, it isn't true, and for people like Elder Mo to dismiss the possibility without any investigation. ';Condemnation without investigation is the height of ignorance.';
Cancer has become epidemic, conventional treatments aren't working, and meanwhile the medical establishment makes vast profits from this failure. Maybe it's time for people to start asking why do we let them get away with this?
Patients are informed of all side effects of the medicines they take. As to permanent hair loss. All patients react differently to chemo and radiation treatments. Some people lose their hair, some times it just thins out, some people never lose their hair.
As to the joker who thinks that there is a cure hidden by the pharmicutical companies. I watched that video, and I see people on here all the time pushing homeopathic remidies for cancer and everything else. Now, while I am not knocking them, because I do use home remidies and natural products as a complimentary to the chemo. Go peddle your ';snake oil'; else where.
Yes, patients should be given both verbal and written information regarding their treatment. In fact I find the people who are receiving chemo to be very knowlegdable about the side effects and the management of the side effects.
Cancer patients AND every other patient should be informed about any/all side effects of all medications and treatments they are given

Does methotrexate cause hair loss in patients using it for cancer only?
i was prescribed methotrexate for rheumatoid arthritis and i read that one of the side effects was hair lossDoes methotrexate cause hair loss in patients using it for cancer only?
MD answer
Methotrexate is not one of the drugs which commonly causes hair loss - especially at the very low doses used for Rheumatoid arthritis. People do vary, but I've seen MANY people on methotrexate over the 20 years I was a doctor prescribing chemotherapy for cancer, and hair loss was very rare with this drug. You should NOT have to worry about this. The worry might cause more hair loss than the drug.Does methotrexate cause hair loss in patients using it for cancer only?
side effects may occur in anyone, irrespective of the intended use.
I would be more worried about the effects it could have on the kidney's. When we administer high doses in chemotherapy for our hematological cancer patients, we monitor their kidney function.
Make sure you are drinking plenty and are putting out as much as you drink. Notify doc if there is any deviation in your intake/output.
I was prescribed Methotrexate for Rheumatoid Arthritis. It made me very sick and i lost quite a lot of hair. It got to the point where i refused to take it.
There are now what i think are better options avaiable.
My rheumatologist has me on a cocktail.
Celebrex, Arava (excellent), Salazopyrin, Plaquenil, Cipramil.
Even one or a few could be an option as opposed to Methotrexate.
Also splints at night to keep the joints in good condition.
Check with your rheumatologist
methotrexate can cause hair loss for any condition it is prescribed for. It thins hair in some people but not others. And it's rare to have complete hair loss from methotrexate. The amount of drug taken as well as duration could also have the impact of hair loss.wholesale cosmetics

How much radiation is emitted from a 27'; TV (CRT) and can this cause hair loss or cancer.?
A close friend moved into a new place %26amp; when the movers delivered her 10 year old TV they had dropped it. There was a huge gaping hole in the side of the TV exposing the insides (tube, coils and wires). The TV still worked so she continued to use it over the next 4 years. During that time she had a change in hair texture, significant hair thinning %26amp; hair shedding (even baldness in a few areas). In documentation that came w/ the TV, there was a disclaimer about X ray precaution. It said ';the product contains critical mechanical %26amp; electrical parts that are essential for XRAY radiation protection %26amp; product safety....WARNING: to avoid possible exposure to radiation during servicing, take protective measures described in the service manual.'; She thinks there may be radiation coming out of the hole in the TV that seeped in the air %26amp; may have caused or contributed to her hair loss or could cause future health problems like cancer. Know if this is possible %26amp; what she can do. TV is now gone. How much radiation is emitted from a 27'; TV (CRT) and can this cause hair loss or cancer.?
O Im so sorry.. but yes it could be from that.. if so she would need some kind of proof but you said tv was gone so Sorry idk..

Is it through creatine can cause cancer or hair loss after couple of years ?
Some doctors think it causes hair loss. The long term side effects are not known. I don't think there are any long term studies. Is it through creatine can cause cancer or hair loss after couple of years ?
There is no scientific study to back this up. Thats fact. Dont forget that people who heavily supplement with Creatine, usually also overdose on vitamin tablets etc, and an overdose of anything is not good for you over a long period.
I think youre fine taking the creatine.

Does Cancer in general cause hair loss or is it the chemotherapy?
Some types of chemotherapy cause hair loss. There are many different types of chemotherapy. The older chemo drugs almost always cause hair loss because they target fast growing cells . . and hair cells are fast growing. The idea behind chemo was to stop the rapid growth of the cancer cell . . but unfortunately one of the side effects was to also kill healthy hair cells and some healthy cells inside the intestine (which is what causes the nausea). So it is the older chemo that causes hair loss. Cancer does not cause hair loss.
The newer chemotherapy drugs are based on targeting the cancer cell only . . and there is no associated hair loss with the newer drugs. In some cases there is a change in pigmentation with the result that hair turns white or gray (Sutent causes hair to turn white).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Targeted_th
http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/facts
Unlike the older more toxic drugs, targeted therapy drugs are used to 'control' the cancer and often can be taken as a daily pill at home.Does Cancer in general cause hair loss or is it the chemotherapy?
Chemotherapy. Actually many people ( myself included ) have or had incorrectly associated the disease itself with hair loss and anemia, that probably contributes to public dread over cancer. You will notice the same hair loss phenomenon in homicide cases where the victim has been intentionally poisoned by a colleague over a protracted period.Does Cancer in general cause hair loss or is it the chemotherapy?
it's the chemotherapy. it contains chemicals
that not only kills the cancerous cells but also
many other cells (like the ones that make hair)
Cancer doesn't cause hair loss.
Many chemotherapy drugs cause hair loss, but not all. Some just cause hair thinning, and some don't cause hair loss at all.

Do cancer medication cause hair loss?
And if so can anyone tell me what medications do besides chemotherapy?Do cancer medication cause hair loss?
Since cancer is the uncontrolled growth of cells, chemo targets or attacks fast growing/dividing cells. Hair cells divide fast and are fast growing, and so are sperm cells, which is why chemo can make your hair fall out and render you sterile for a while.
I can't tell you any other cancer medications off the top of my head, but I'd imagine that the same principle would apply. Cancer medications would probably be intended to slow down or halt the rapid, uncontrolled cell growth, and hair loss would be a probable side effect.Do cancer medication cause hair loss?
some do
some make you skinny some make you fat
some make you vomit alot there are a few treatments that don't make you sick or loose your hair though
yes
Many types of Chemotherapy can cause hair loss. The reason for patient's loss of hair is that chemotherapy can kill healthy cell in the process of killing cancerous cells.
Hair loss due to radiation treatment will only occur within the radiation field. Scalp hair will only be affected if the head receives radiation.
Anti-inflammatories that are also used as a chemotherapy drug that induce hair loss are
Methotrexate (MTX)
Rheumatrex (methotrexate)
chemo yes. various creams for treatment of skin cancer , for the scalp will cause loss of hair in treatment area, burns like heck . found it easier to go bald . once treatment works, treated , area will grow back very thin . stayed bald . chemo is the only bald treatment for everybody

Chemotherapy does cause hair loss. You just have to wait for it to grow again.
Radio therapy can cause nausea chemotheraphy can cause hair loss but it grows again just a thick as beforeTake care

Does Cancer cause hair loss?
I know the treatment for Cancer does, but I was wondering if the disease itself can cause hair loss (all over body).Does Cancer cause hair loss?
Cancer doesnt cause hair loss. Its the Chemotherepy which is used to cure the Cancer casue the hair loss. For side effects of Chemotherapy read here http://www.medicinenet.com/chemotherapy/Does Cancer cause hair loss?
No it doesn't. Hair loss of that kind is alopecia - this is a useful site that we used when a family member had alopecia:
http://www.alopeciaonline.org.uk/index2.
Cancer treatments don't necessarily cause hair loss; many but by no means all chemotherapy regimes cause hair loss, including loss of body hair; some just cause hair thinning, some don't cause any hair loss.
Radiotherapy/radiation is a localised treatment doesn't cause hair loss unless it is targetted at a part of the body that has hair.
no you are thinking of alopecia which causes hair loss on the body, it's chemotherapy which causes it with cancer
Not really. alopesia is the only desease I know of that causes total body hair loss.

Do all cancer medication cause hair loss or is it just chemotherapy drugs?
chemotherapy acts not only on cancer cells but on all rapidly dividing cells of body---bone marrow cells, cells lining thegut and mouth, hair follicle etc.
supression of cell division in hair follicles causes hair loss.
anticancer drugs like--hormones,hormone like drugs[taxanes, aromatase inhibitors] and biologic therapy[herceptin]
are free from this side effect.Do all cancer medication cause hair loss or is it just chemotherapy drugs?
Not all chemotherapies cause hair loss; however, some always cause hair loss. Chemotherapies that are toxic to rapidly dividing cells are the most likely to cause hair loss. The hair follicle is composed of rapidly dividing cells, and therefore, is often affected as a side effect of chemotherapy. The hair loss can be on the head, chest, arms, legs, pelvic region and face.Do all cancer medication cause hair loss or is it just chemotherapy drugs?
Well, folks, not all chemotherapy drugs cause hair loss..at least not complete hair loss.
My chemo regimen made my hair thin and dry and frizzy
My friend's chemo for gallbladder cancer caused her to lightly thin but nothing noticeable
Radiation therapy causes hair loss. Some chemotherapy drugs cause hair loss. But one cancer survivor I know has had 29 radiation treatments to his head and over 150 separate chemotherapy treatments (four different types of chemo) and has a full and beautiful head of hair.
chemotherpy posions your body to a point of very nearly death.. this kills you hair :( (although your hair is alredy dead :S) but i dnt think all cancer mediactation does
Not all cancer drugs cause hair loss. I'm on chemo for uterine cancer and also a drug called Lupron to stop my menstrual cycle. The chemo didn't even cause my hair to thin...but the Lupron sure did!

Can cervical cancer cause hair loss?
My hair has been falling out, and im not sure why. I have pre-cervical cancer. meaning it hasnt fully developed yet (to my knowledge) but i have not been checked in a while. Could they be linked?
Also, after sex i have noticed a small amount of blood when use the restroom, and read that it might be linked to the cancer. does this all mean its progressing into actual cancer? is the hair loss a factor? i dont have insurance right now to visit the doctor..Can cervical cancer cause hair loss?
I agree with laundromatlyts...However, I'm pretty sure hair loss isn't caused by the cancer itself, but by the treatmentCan cervical cancer cause hair loss?
Cervical cancer does not cause hair loss.
Some cancer treatments cause hair loss.
Some vitamin deficiencies and stress can also cause hair loss.
If you have had an abnormal pap smear and been diagnosed as pre-cancerous then it is vital that you follow the program of routine checks your Dr has given you.
Insurance should not come into it, either go to a free clinic or spend the money on a Dr's visit. All the money in the world is not worth neglecting your health.
go to the county hospital where it's free, get a PAP smear, and find out. asking random strangers on yahoo answers isn't going to help you. truth is you're going to need medical help whether you have insurance or not if you do have cervical cancer.
The bllod after sex needs to be checked out. Hair loss is often due to stress certainly not cervical cancer

Are there any other diseases besides cancer that cause hair loss?
I was just kind of wondering, I know that its the Chemo therapy that causes the hair loss and not the actual surgery but I was just wondering whether that ever happens with other types of illnesses too???Are there any other diseases besides cancer that cause hair loss?
whole bunch of emAre there any other diseases besides cancer that cause hair loss?
its not a disease but nerves and some medication will do that to
I would say radiation poisening.
Yes, Lupus and Chron's Disease can cause hair lose, I have both and have lost my hair clear back to my ears, it grows back, but it takes a long time, and also severe stress can cause hair lose.
Loupus does for SURE
Alopecia causes hair loss but this is usually something that you would have had and known about for many years. It is not the cancer that causes hairloss at all. It is the treatments that are used for cancer. Some chemotherapies cause hairloss but MANY do not. Stress causes hairloss as well. Also eating poorly or anorexia causes hairloss. There is also a chronic anxiety disorder that causes people to pull their own hair out it can sometimes happen in their sleep but usually this is while you are conscious. There is also a genetic disposition to hairloss in women it is usually due to a high level of testoterone. Female hairloss and baldness is a possibility as well. I would go to a doctor if you are concerned it could be serious.
STRESS%26lt; STRESS%26lt; STRESS!!!!
Yep, that will make your hair fall out and all other kinds of things can happen. Stress affects your whole body in different ways.
I heard if someone is involved in a very trajic situation it can cause hair loss. I knew a girl that her father was killed my a crash and she lost all her hair. It kinda grew back but was very patchy. Very sad story
Sure, alopecia is one that somes to mind right off the bat.
Cancer doesn't cause hair loss. The treatment (chemotherapy) causes hair loss.
Not all chemo results in hair loss.
Yes, genetics, your father or mother got bald. Other causes are fungal, alopecia areata, dry skin, malnutrition, certain medication.

In general, Why cancer chemical therapy causes hair loss.?
Mechanically, how does that happen ?
and overall how the chemical treatment of cancer work on the cancer cells ?In general, Why cancer chemical therapy causes hair loss.?
Formation of hair involves division of cells, as do growth of cancers. Briefly chemotherapy inhibits division of cells, thereby preventing formation of new hair. We shed hair all the time, and consequently hair loss is greater than hair formation during chemotherapy. When the treatment is over hair formation becomes normal again. In general, Why cancer chemical therapy causes hair loss.?
Cancer cells are rapidly dividing abnormal cells. Chemotherapy drugs are cyto-toxic meaning they target cell division and especially target rapidly dividing cells, killing them off.
Chemo also kills off healthy cells, unfortunately. Hair, stomach and intestine as well as other more rapidly dividing cells in the body are also damaged by these drugs, which is why your hair falls out during treatment. Once treatment stops, these cells grow back (hopefully there are no remaining cancer cells to grow back after treatment).
That is about as simple an explanation as I can give.
better search in google because there is very many causes!

Just wondering, since I heard chemical dyes can cause cancer because of the chemicals that weaken the immune system. Do vegetable dyes like henna cause hair loss, cancer, or even premature graying? I wouldn't think so, because they have no chemicals, but I would like to know for sure =).Does Vegetable Dye Cause Cancer, Hair Loss, Hair Whitening, etc.? Does it work?

Does cancer cause hair loss or does chemotherapy cause it?
I have really curly hair that are boy short.
When I don't com it for a little while. its still curly but when I run my fingers through it a couple of pieces of hair come off. And once I brush it some come off but not patches...
I believe its perfectly normal...
but what do you think?Does cancer cause hair loss or does chemotherapy cause it?
You didn't say whether you have cancer or whether you are taking chemotherapy treatments. I can tell that cancer in itself is not usually responsible for hair loss. There are certain cancers that could cause hair loss with time but it is usually the chemotherapy that is responsible. Why? Chemotherapy kills fast growing cells and hair is a fast growing cell. Other fast growing cells is the mucosa of the integumentary tract,i.e., the mouth, throat, stomach, intestines, colon, and rectum. That is why some patients develop sore mouths and rectums when they are taking chemotherapy treatments. Now, if you are neither a cancer patient nor taking chemo, slight hair loss is normal. You have to shed some hair in order to grow new hair. Increased hair loss is common with some other disease processes such as hypothyroidism.Does cancer cause hair loss or does chemotherapy cause it?
what you are saying, and what you are asking, are 2 different things. Yes, it's the chemo that causes hair loss -- anyone can tell you that -- but what you are DESCRIBING, is normal hair loss. Are you asking if your hair loss is normal? Or, is it normal even though you are now on Chemo?
Hair falling out in a comb or by hand run through hair is normal whether you have cancer or not -- all healthy people lose up to 100 hairs a day, without knowing it. CHEMO on the other hand, causes hair to fall out without warning, slowly at first, and then in clumps. Chemo kills healthy blood cells as well as cancerous, so it attacks healthy hair cells, killing them in the process. That's what causes the hair loss.
When a person stops taking the chemo drug, the hair cells return to normal, and the hair grows back in.
Its the chemo that does it, u麓ll find that the cancer treatments cause more damage to u than the cancer does, there麓s many alternative treatments out there that cure many aggressive and advanced cancers as if it was just a minor infection.
These treatments can be just a change in diet or herbal cures.
I know of many people who were considered no-hopers by the medical community, they took alternative treatment and the cancers were gone within months, never to return, and these people continued a normal healthy life from then on.
Hair folicles normally grow for three years followed by a dormant stage then fall out naturally. 10% of your hair is in the dormant stage at any one time so finding hairs in your brush or comb is normal. If you are finding patches or bald spots it could be related to stress or alopecia.
If you are undergoing chemotherapy you will loose most of your body hair, not just on your scalp.
The chemotherapy causes hair loss. A weakened immune system, will also cause hair loss.
Are you asking whether you have cancer because some of your hair is falling out?
I haven't really seen anything suggesting it. But hair loss is common with autoimmune diseases and vitamin deficiencies. Both of these eventually lead to cancer, so I imagine that there must be some link between hair loss and cancer.
Now, chemo usually makes far more hair fall out than any of the above...
SharonW's answer is correct.
However, from my own personal experience with stage IV brain cancer, numerous chemotherapy's, radiation and other cancer related issues...hair loss was not a factor in my husbands situation. He had 6 different chemo..oral and IV chemotherapy's. He only lost patches of hair during radiation treatment. Never due to medications. So I think every person is an individual case.
Good Luck

Can Breast Cancer cause hair loss before it is diagnosed?
My mom has been loosing hair latley, and it could just be my nerves, but there is some trace of breast cancer in my family. She's still young, only 38. I'm just a worried teenage daughter, I'm afraid I might loose her...I don't think she has thought about this fact that it could be something more than just loosing hair, but I just would like to ask the simple question of whether breast cancer can lead to hair loss when it is not yet diagnosed and there is no kemo going on. She has been on a diet, so could that be it?
Please tell me as much as you know.
I'm so worried.
All answers are welcome and valued.
Thank you.Can Breast Cancer cause hair loss before it is diagnosed?
As far as I know, It's not the cancer that causes the hair to fall but the chemo treatment, which is strong and affects ';weaker'; things such as hair folicles! Your mom might want to talk to her doctor about her hair loss, to see what could be the cause and how to treat it. Yes,a very harsh diet may lead to imbalances in the body and I thnk to some hair loss. Stress too.
ps: if you're worried abt your mom, in general (due to breast cancer family history), ask her to have a mammogram done soon (if she isn't having them regularly already) and to go to the doctor for periodic consults. Talk to her abt your worries. It's ok! It's better to speak up and let her know. She might already be going to these checkups without telling you. She might already be doing everything she can to make sure she's fine. Or, if not, she may do this after she hears that you're worried.
It's wonderful that you care so much and are alert to these issues. **Yet, don't stress too much over them either, relax girl! Your mom is a reponsible adult. Can Breast Cancer cause hair loss before it is diagnosed?
Not usually, no. Breast cancer and cancer in generally only give you a result of hair loss from the treatment, not the cancer itself.
If she's worried, she needs to see a doctor. Being on a diet and being stressed could be the reasons that she's losing her hair!
I think she should talk with her normal doctor about her hair loss, but she shouldn't worry too much about breast cancer. If she gives herself regular breast exams, there's even less reason to worry.
%26gt;%26gt;I guess there is that possibility but more than likely it is either due to stress or maybe hypothyroidism. Have you shared your concerns with your mother? I think you should. My mom had breast cancer about 15 years ago and did not have any hair loss. Me on the other hand will loose patches of hair (and I mean bald spots) when I become too stressed out. Look up alopecia areata (sp?) and also look up hypothyroidism. I have that too and it is pretty common. Hope this helps sweetie! God Bless!
i know that my friend had breast cancer and she only lost hair through chemotheropy. A lotof women start losing hair around that age. I wouldnt worry if i were you. If you really have concerns see a doctor but for now i think your fine
hair loss associated with cancer is from chemotherapy which kills all the rapidly reproducing cells in your body, such as hair follicles and the cancer cells, if your mom is losing her hair, it would not be from cancer unless she is on chemo.
Hair loss usually happens during the treatment stage.
';While chemotherapy is an effective treatment for many women, it is associated with a number of well-known and traumatic side effects, such as hair loss, and exhausting bouts of nausea and vomiting, which many patients find difficult to tolerate.';
Don't be nervous too much. There are lots of possibilities for hair loss. But people are suggested to do annual health or breast examination. The safest way is to ask your mum to visit a speciality doctor to do the examination. Cancer is more likely to be cured in the early stage.
Your mum can also do the self-exam firstly as follows:
';1. Lie down. Flatten your right breast by placing a pillow or towel under your right shoulder. Place your right arm behind your head. Examine your right breast with your left hand.
2. Use the pads, not the tips, of the middle three fingers on your left hand. With fingers flat, press gently using a circular, rubbing motion and feel for lumps. In small, dime-sized circles without lifting the fingers, start at the outermost top edge of your breast and spiral in toward the nipple.
3. Press firmly enough to feel the different breast tissues, using three different pressures. First, light pressure to just move the skin without jostling the tissue beneath, then medium pressure pressing midway into the tissue, and finally deep pressure to probe more deeply down to the ribs or to the point just short of discomfort.
4. Completely feel all of the breast and chest area up under your armpit, up to the collarbone, and all the way over to your shoulder to cover breast tissue that extends toward the shoulder.
5. Gently squeeze both nipples and look for discharge.
After you have completely examined your right breast, examine your left breast using the same method with your right hand. You may want to examine your breasts or do an extra exam while showering. It's easy to slide soapy hands over your skin and to feel anything unusual. You should also check your breasts in a mirror, looking for any change in size or contour, dimpling of the skin, or spontaneous nipple discharge.';

i know that my friend had breast cancer and she only lost hair through chemotheropy.
';While chemotherapy is an effective treatment for many women, it is associated with a number of well-known and traumatic side effects, such as hair loss, and exhausting bouts of nausea and vomiting, which many patients find difficult to tolerate.';
After you have completely examined your right breast, examine your left breast using the same method with your right hand. You may want to examine your breasts or do an extra exam while showering. It's easy to slide soapy hands over your skin and to feel anything unusual. You should also check your breasts in a mirror, looking for any change in size or contour, dimpling of the skin, or spontaneous nipple discharge.';
