What causes hair loss in cancer patients?

do all cancer treatments lead to hair loss or not? What causes hair loss in cancer patients?
My first cycle of chemo of 6 rounds of taxol/carb had me losing all my hair. The next cycle of 6 rounds of Alimta did not cause hair loss. It all depends on the person and the treatment.

Hair loss occurs because chemotherapy can sometimes damage healthy cells. It is so common because hair follicle cells multiply very quickly like cancer cells and chemotherapy drugs have difficulty in discerning the difference.

The good news is that your hair will grow back. It may grow back during treatment, but usually regrowth begins in about 6 to 8 weeks after treatment ends. What causes hair loss in cancer patients?
No, not all cancer treatments cause hair loss.

Many chemotherapy drugs cause hair loss, but not all of them. Some cause hair thinning and some don't cause hair loss at all.

Radiotherapy/radiation doesn't cause hair loss unless it's to the head

**Edit: A thumbs down for a completely factual answer? Someone just doesn't like me LOL
Chemotherapy is the main problem, it attacks rapidly dividing cells. The dividing cells of the hair follicle do this resulting in hair loss. It is uncommon with localised radiotherapy.
It depends on the cancer but for most you do lose your hair. I lost my hair three timees. You lose it from treatments not the cancer itself. You ll lose it through chemo or radiation and some medication pills.
i heard that chemo attacks fast reproducing cells which are cancer cells but unfortunately so are hair cells
I am no doctor but I think its the chemotherapy treatment that gives you hair loss - not the disease.
