Can I stop postpartum hair loss?

My baby is 4 months old and my hair has been falling out alot for the past 2 months. No one else can tell, but when I comb my hair it comes out in little clumps. Anything I can do to stop it? Vitamins maybe? How long did it happen for you?Can I stop postpartum hair loss?
I had that problem until my baby was about 7 months old, it looked like chewbaca had took a shower at my house.... (i have long thick curly hair).... anyways it got so bad that I actually had a few bald spots... it has to resolve on its own and it will, my hair is growing back and it stoped falling out at about 7 months post partum.....Can I stop postpartum hair loss?
It happens for a few months after having the baby. It will stop soon. Mine ended when my daughter was 4 months old.
happens because you have well some people have bloomed an you have 9 months worth of hair to shed told that by my midwife there are shampoos i know boots do them i used them they make your hair shine well too
I was loosing my hair up to a year after I had my son. I'm not sure what you can do since it is hormonal.
no, but vitamins will make sure that what you keep will stay healthier.
Sorry it happens to almost all of us. If you stay on your prenatal vitamins it can slow it down, but eventually you end up shedding like a dog cuz it's hormonal.

It will stop eventually, but it takes several months.
Try taking 50 mg of zinc and/or 200 mcg of selenium each day. It worked for me, but for a different physical situation.
Continue with your pregnancy vitamins. The hair loss will stop soon, dont worry.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.....go have your thyroid checked. This could be a sign of hypothyroid. check it out ont he web.... could be just hormones, but if it is your thyroid, you want to get it under control..... hypotyroid is fine when you have it controled but if you dont you will lose your mind. I was diagnosed with hypothyroid, a few months after my second was born. very comon in woman, becasue pregnancy is so hard on our bodies
Oh boy, I had the same thing....and still do. I have very thick curly hair, and I have to unstop the drain every time I shower. I have a 4 year old daughter...and my son who has done all this damage...is almost a year old. Im not sure how long it lasts, but mine is still going. The good thing is that, well, its hair, it will grow back.
No there's nothing you can do, unfortunately. It is only making up for the time you were pregnant and you didn't lose as much hair as usual. I'm postpartum too and going through the same thing.
It's hormonal.

I don't think you can do much to stop it.
